The problem
Digital systems track transactions, databases, accounts — but ownership itself stays fragmented between platforms. What a marketplace calls “yours” means nothing outside it. What a licence server grants you doesn’t survive that server going away.
The approach
DOP separates ownership truth from the applications that use it — one verifiable record of what’s genuinely owned, by whom. Commerce, licensing, and provenance sit on top of that shared truth, not beside it, each keeping its own version.
Architectural philosophy
One layer, one responsibility — trust is proven, not assumed. That’s why nothing here depends on any single application staying online; it depends on the record underneath it.
